"Book Thief" Stealing
Stealing is a very bad thing to do. I don't think Liesel should be stealing, even if the circumstances are bad. The farmer took his time to plant all of these trees. He worked really hard to plant them. I don't think it's fair that these kids are stealing them from him. There are plenty more options than stealing. The circumstances don't mean that it is ok to steal, or to do bad things. She has a lot more options. One of them could be to look for a job to help her family; and even if she wouldn't recieve a good salary, at least it would be a start, and it would help a little. Another option is that she could make a deal with the owner of the orchard; maybe she could exchange something for food, or she could work for him, and he would give her apples, or other food. There are many other options. Stealing is bad.

Rachel i totally agree with you... the fact that your dying of hunger doesnt mean that its okay to steal....
Racguel you have to remember that times are difficult. The reason why there is not enough food in Liesel's house is because Rosa and Hans cannot find enough work, even though they are trying. If they cannot find work, what kind of work do you think little Liesel could find? Does this change your answer?
Racquel i'm not entirly sure if i agree with you. We both know stealing is bad but that's because we have a much more higher education than Leisle does. Do you think they show the difference between right and wrong at her school?.... I don't think she could get a job. If you were in those circumstances without all the knowledge you have now.. i would bet that you would of done the same thing or something similar. Leisle may think like a baby. almost all of us stole something when we were young, if our mothers did not want to buy us a toy we would get real mad and maybe takeit without knowing the true defenition of stealing.
CPN1994 AKA Nazgol I do agree with u about the stealing and how it is wrong but at the moment something one would do involuntarily but that last part about getting mad and stealing seems like u are talking of experience (I don't say that to anger u but beause it does sound like it).
Racquel.. i agree and at the same time dont agree with you. Yes stealing is bad, and it shoudnt be done.. but in extreme cases.. its theyre only chance of survival!
